Gone is the broadly drawn world of Smallville and Metropolis and the cast of one dimensional characters, instead we have Clark Kent, a boy learning to be a man, a person set apart searching for a place in the world. If it is the superman of the comic books, the big screen action hero you admire then this book is not for you, for this is a complete and utter reinvention of the superman mythos. A third now joins these two, "It's Superman" by Tom DeHaven. On long journeys as a representative for my company I have listened to many audio books, my favorites have been "Cloud Atlas" by David Mitchell and "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" by Michael Chabon (both unabridged). The narration is awesome and really the only redeeming quality of this book. ![]() Of course as Lois says "A modern girl should have experiences with a variety of men, including older men" The only thing that draws you into this story is the excellent narration and the hope that the story will actually take you somewhere. Sleeps with another guy who is to be the husband of one of Lois's best friend. If fact Lois sleeps with a guy who is to be Clark's best friend. My dear Lois is a fairly loose woman, having sexual encounters with at least 3 different men, but not Clark. But what else should we expect when early on we are told Clark's father is a pagan. One thing is certain Clark Kent is a self-proclaimed atheist - "I don't believe there is a God" - exactly what would expect from our superhero. His actual role in the book is very limited. First, Clark Kent is a rather weak minded individual. This show is really doing everything from the ground up and I’m sure its going to leave us with plenty of room for fantastic storytelling. After about two hours into this book you will probably realize that this is not your traditional superman - man of virtue and steel, nor is Lois Lane the modern, charming yet moral person. I love the dynamic between Lois, Clark, and Jimmy and the fact that they’re all interns at the Daily Planet. My Adventures With Superman 1×01 was a great episode and I can’t wait to see the next. I have no issues with this episode at all. Still testing the limits of his powers and learning how they work is a completely new avenue for this show to explore, and I’m eager to see where it goes. Jack Quaid seems to be a great choice for the voice of Superman as you can tell he’s a young man still trying to figure out this entire destiny of being a hero. The animation style is great, and the introduction of Jimmy and Lois don’t feel forced, even though it was the first episode. However, My Adventures With Superman quickly shows you just how different it is, but in a good way. I must admit, I had my reservations about this show, but that was mainly due in part to my feelings about Superman: The Animated Series, which still resonates with me to this day. Meeting the beautiful and fearless Lois Lane, the trio fast develop a friendship–all while trying to survive being destroyed by robots! My Adventures With Superman 1×01: Clark Kent and his best friend Jimmy Olsen navigate their first day through their internship at the Daily Planet. Starring: Jack Quaid, Alice Lee, Ishmel Sahid, Darrell Brown ![]() Writers: Josie Campbell, Brendan Clogher, Jake Wyatt Review: My Adventures With Superman 1×01 – “Adventures of a Normal Man Pt.
